Videos on King David, the Temple

Here are two very interesting videos from The Bible Project – one on King David himself (“the priestly king”) and one on the importance of the Temple – both immediately relevant to our current readings in 1 Chronicles. Note especially that both of them begin at the beginning: the significance of David and of the Temple is tied up with God’s purposes in creation.

Day 91: 2 Samuel 1-3

 Summary of 2 Samuel: David, a “man after God’s own heart,” forged the tribes of Israel into a strong nation during his forty-year reign as king. But after committing adultery and murder, he was haunted by family problems and national crises.
