Day 262: Amos 5-9

The reading for Year of the Bible, Day 262, is Amos 5-9: After a lament for Jerusalem, Amos writes a funeral song. The rest of Amos contains a series of visions in which God reveals his plans to destroy Israel … ending with a promise of rebirth and restoration.

Day 261: Amos 1-4

The reading for Year of the Bible, Day 261, is Amos 1-4: Amos was a Judahite shepherd who was sent to the northern cities to prophesy. His messages are mainly about the defense of the poor and the need for worship to change hearts, not just behavior.
