Day 65: Joshua 5-7 - Welcome to St. George's

The reading for Year of the Bible, Day 65, is Joshua 5-7: Joshua fought the battle of Jericho and the walls came tumblin’ down

In the map below, note:

Shittim was final encampment of the Israelites before entering Canaan; Moses made his speeches there that are recorded in Deuteronomy.
The yellow arrow is the crossing of the Jordan and journey to Jericho. (Gibeath-haaraloth, the site of the mass circumcision, is not recorded on the map because its location is uncertain, but it was near Gilgal.) Jericho’s walls came tumblin’ down.
The unsuccessful first trip to Ai, from Jericho, is not shown on the map, but the purple and orange arrows represent the ambush/pincer movement the Israelites subsequently successfully employed in Joshua 8. Bethel, which comes to Ai’s defense, is also destroyed.
After those victories, the green arrow shows the Israelite’s movement toward Shechem to renew the covenant and read the whole law as the people stood in two groups on the sides of Mt. Gerizim and Mt. Ebal.
