It
is the rector's hope that many St. George's
people will be moved to become Associates of
the Confraternity. It is Father Bill's vision
that Confraternity members will form an intercession
prayer group for the parish, praying at regular
times, lifting up those with special needs, and
participating in the forming and offering of
the Sunday intercessions.
Those
wishing to explore the possibility of membership
in the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament should
speak with Father Duffey. The first group of Associates
at St. George's was admitted to membership at the
10 o'clock service on Corpus Christi Sunday, June
25, 2000. A second group of Associates was admitted
to membership at both the 8 o'clock and the 10 o'clock
services on Corpus Christi Sunday, June 17, 2001.
Confraternity
dues are either $2 per year or a one-time life membership
contribution of $25, which secures the privilege
of "Perpetual Remembrance" after the associate's
death. Associates have the privilege of requesting,
through the SecretaryGeneral, the prayers of
the whole Confraternity for a special intention.
Medals bearing the Confraternity emblem may be worn
by members. They are available in bronze at $20 and
in silver plate at $25. While most Associates enjoy
wearing them as a symbol of their membership, they
are optional. (One side of the medal is pictured
above, on the navigation panel.)
