The
Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament is an
Anglican devotional society organized for the purpose
of honoring our Lord in his real presence in the eucharist.
Known as Associates, Confraternity members are lay and
ordained men and women who are communicants of the Episcopal
Church. They understand themselves to be practicing the
catholic faith as it has been received, reformed, and
preserved in Anglicanism, and feel themselves especially
devoted to our Lord's presence in the Blessed Sacrament.
Blessèd
Constance and Her Companions Ward Sister Constance
was a nun of the Community of St. Mary who, with her Companions,
ministered to those stricken with the Yellow Fever epidemic
in Memphis, Tennessee, in August of 1878. While 30,000
citizens fled in terror, a few brave men and women remained
at their posts to assist in spite of the terrible risk.
More than 5,000 people died of the disease, including
Constance and her Companions. They are commemorated in
the Episcopal Church calendar of Saints on September 9th.
St. Georges parishioners have been involved in the
work of the Community of St. Mary and the Sisters have
led our Lenten Quiet Days thus our connection with
Constance and her Companions. Below is a list of the current
Associates of the Ward. Please contact any Associate for
