  • The members of the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation, New Orleans and their ministry of hurricane recovery.
  • For those who were injured or lost their lives in the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile. We also pray for the relief workers, doctors, nurses and others who are assisting the people of Haiti and Chile in their time of great need.
  • The Lower Merion faculty, administration, staff, students and parents.
  • In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, for:
    The Episcopal Church in the Philippines

    In the Diocesan calendar of intercessions, for:
    The Widows Corporation, and for the clergy and people of Saint Mark's Church, Quetzaltenango, in our companion diocese of Guatemala.

    For the repose of the souls of those whose lives have been lost in the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, and Israel. For Iraqi Christians and Muslims and for civil peace with justice and an end to the killing there, that the Iraqi people may obtain stable, free, and tranquil lives and that foreign aid workers and military personnel may return home safely.

    For an end to the violence in Congo, Burma, Burundi, Eritrea, Rwanda, Somalia, Lebanon, Ethiopia, Sudan, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Zimbabwe, Chad and Kenya; and an end to the genocide of Christians in the Darfur region of Sudan.

    For all children, especially those of the Children’s Ark at St. George’s and its parents and staff.

    We pray for the Church, the family of Christ throughout the world, remembering particularly Katherine, our Presiding Bishop; Rodney, our Bishop; Ryan, our priest; and all the baptized who minister in this congregation and community.

    We pray for the special intention of Ralph Dean, Elizabeth, Dylan Jaquith, Steve Santangelo,and Michael Stone and family.

    For those celebrating their birthdays this week:
    that they may grow in grace as they grow in years.

    For those celebrating their anniversaries this week:
    that God may reveal himself to them more and more through each other in the sacrament of holy matrimony.

    In thanksgiving for the life and witness of the heroes of the Christian faith whose feast days we celebrate this week: Blesséd Macrina (Monastic and Teacher), Blesséd Elizabeth Stanton, Amelia Bloomer, Sojourner Truth, and Harriet Tubman (Crusaders for Women's and Blacks' rights), Blesséd Mary Magdalene, and Blesséd Thomas á Kempis (Priest)
